A month before Joanna and Kyle’s wedding, we did bridal portraits in one of Savannah’s oldest, most famous homes, The Green-Meldrim House and a National Historic Landmark. The house was build in the early 1850s. In December 1864, the home’s owner invited Gen.Sherman to use the home as his headquarters when the Federal army occupied Savannah during the Civil War. While here, Sherman sent his famous telegram to President Lincoln offering him the City of Savannah as a Christmas gift.

Joanna looked absolutely stunning in her dress and long veil and her bouquet, made by her wedding florist, Urban Poppy. My brides often tell me that their bridal session is a perfect test-run of the hair, makeup, dress, shoes, and bouquet. You wear it for a few hours, so you can gauge how everything fits and feels. And then you see the photos, and you can make any tweaks to your hair, makeup, dress and bouquet before the real wedding day. Invaluable!
