Getting married in Savannah? Work with your photographer to make time on your wedding day for a few special moments.
When Katie married Ben in Savannah, she set aside time before the ceremony to spend with people she treasures.
After her mom and sister helped her dress, Katie met her father outside. As he turned to see his daughter in her wedding dress, a look of surprise quickly turned deeply emotional. He wrapped her in a long, sweet embrace. A few moments later, Katie’s bridesmaids – and “bridesman,” her brother – gathered on the porch. Katie appeared in her dress, fingering the gauzy layers. Shrieks of joy and hugs followed. Katie’s mom quickly found a box of tissues, and Katie dabbed her eyes.
And then it was time for the final “first look.” Katie and Ben, like many couples, opted to see each other before the wedding ceremony. It gave them a quiet moment alone.
Katie arrived at Forsyth Park, where Ben was waiting. As she approached, Ben – facing away – straightened his tie, took a deep breath, and smiled.
Ben and Katie met the first day of graduate school at Savannah College of Art and Design. Now they live and work in Los Angeles as animators, she for Disney and he for DreamWorks. They came back to Savannah, the place they fell in love, to say their vows.
And on a warm February afternoon, under the moss-draped oaks, Ben turned to see Katie in her wedding dress, looking every bit like a princess and he like he’s just stepped off a movie set. And so began their first day of forever.
