Utterly dreamy. Every detail was beautiful and thoughtful. Some moments were tearful and poignant. Others were raucous with laughter. But it was the overwhelming love between Ben and Katie and their families that made this day so utterly dreamy.
Ben and Katie are kind, gentle souls, yet driven to meet their dreams. She works for Disney and he for DreamWorks, both on animation teams that create the movies we all will love.
Yesterday they married in Pulaski Square. Years ago, Katie biked through this square on the way her first class of graduate school at Savannah College of Art and Design. She was about to meet her best friend and life partner, Ben.
Family and friends from around the country gathered in that square yesterday. A drizzle of rain fell at the close of the ceremony, sealing the day with good luck. But Ben and Katie didn’t need the luck and didn’t mind the rain. They had exchanged rings – sent round to every the guests to be passed, blessed and “warmed” by the hands of their loved ones. They were married. And that was better than anything they’d ever dreamed.
