Chelsey and Michael had the most magical wedding day in Savannah. Perfectly beautiful in every detail.

So when I asked Chelsey after the wedding if she would change anything, I was surprised she could think of a single thing.

“I wish it were longer. The day flew by so fast!” she said.

Ah, yes. Completely agree!

So we found a way to extend the part of the day we could!

After returning from their fabulous honeymoon, Chelsey and Michael – but mostly Chelsey 🙂 – got all dolled up again. We met at a place very dear to them both, especially Michael: the expansive plantation he grew up hunting on. He knows every trail and turn of this gorgeous estate. It’s where Michael proposed to Chelsey, and its beauty made the perfect backdrop for deeply meaningful wedding portraits.

We had a few hours to wonder around. (I loved seeing Chelsey hike up her dress, revealing boots beneath! She waded through puddles, and every time she hopped back into Michael’s truck – the dress puffed up around her like a cupcake.)

We waited on perfect light. We laughed. We climbed and explored. We took our time. And I left thinking every couple should seriously consider a post-honeymoon shoot.

It relieves so much pressure on your wedding day. If it rains, who cares! It allows you to spend more time with your guests. And duh! It gives you another chance to wear your wedding dress!
