Editorial Shoot: The Mills House Hotel in Charleston

A few weeks ago, I drove up to Charleston, Savannah’s older sister city. Savannah has my heart, and I told myself not to wander around too much in Charleston, see too many gorgeous verandas, rainbow colored homes, secret gardens, checkered marble porches, glorious architecture, cobblestone streets. I didn’t want to go home besotted by the other sister.

But alas, I did. I participated in a styled / editorial shoot hosted by Southern Bride Magazine. The shoot spanned three venues, starting with The Mills House Hotel, a pink confection in the historic district. There, designer / planner Eventfully Yours Weddings teamed with Willow Event Designs florals to create the most colorful, whimsical, magical setting.

I loved the unique floral shoulder piece worn by fabulous model, Anna. And the “best buds” floral place cards ( Guests choose their floral piece, place it into a small vase and head to their table. FUN! ) But I think the hanging florals were my favorite! And finally getting to photograph Pink Figgy, the vintage car, in front of the pink Mills House, and getting to meet Figgy’s fabulous owner was a treat!

While I did push the button on my camera, I did little else to make these gorgeous images; the designers and models were simply amazing. The event itself was so well organized and fun. Loved meeting other super-talented wedding pros! (Is mine a real job if I’m having this much fun?)
