How They Met

Some love stories begin as a surprise, like Dylan and Alli’s. It began at a work event in Fiji, where initial meeting was filled with honesty fueled by the belief they would never meet again. Despite considering it a brief encounter, destiny had more surprises in store for the couple.

Upon returning to the United States, Alli chose to visit Dylan in Las Vegas. What started as a spontaneous trip turned into a more lasting arrangement when Dylan asked if Alli would relocate there. Without hesitation, she accepted—and the rest, as they say, became history.

Alli remembered the exact moment when she knew Dylan was “the one”, which was when she first noticed a smile line. Feeling self-conscious, she pointed it out to Dylan. Without missing a beat, he responded with “A smile line means I’m doing my job right.” That simple and sweet response solidified her belief that he would always prioritize her.

Planning a Day of Surprises

Working with Megan Elizabeth Weddings to plan their special day, Dylan and Alli chose the Mackey House as their venue. Every area was beautiful with florals by Kristian Design, and perfect for the surprises they had planned for guests throughout the evening. Prioritizing relationships, they created time for surprised unveilings with family and even their dog, Kava, before the ceremony.

A Ceremony Filled with Laughter

Ewan Riccio-Laing conducted the ceremony, delighting guests with unexpected moments that had everyone laughing and snapping selfies, including himself. Ewan shared stories of the couple’s meeting and explained the significance of Alli’s engagement ring, a blue sapphire symbolizing the waters of Fiji. Dylan’s ring had a similar reminder featuring a blue ring inside the band. These intricate details were a testament to the deep love shared between the couple.

Heartfelt Surprises All Evening

As the ceremony concluded, the surprises continued to unfold. Guests walked from the lawn to cocktail hour, where they were pleasantly surprised to encounter Forest Gump. Walking around with a box of chocolates, he shared captivating tales of Savannah and showed a genuine interest in the lives of each guest. In addition to the delicious food, a Rock-Paper-Scissors competition added to the excitement. Participants earned stickers for each victory, intensifying the friendly competition. Throughout the evening, as more guests triumphed in these mini-tournaments, it became evident that the final post-dinner finale would be another fun-filled surprise planned by the couple.

One of the most touching moments happened as each guest found their seating cards where Dylan and Alli had written personalized notes to every guest. Smiles, laughter and even a few tears were present as each person read their notes.

Throughout the reception, the excitement and intricacies kept guests entertained. From scratch-off lottery tickets to Leopold’s ice cream and personalized tattoos, the event was filled with enjoyable surprises. There was true joy all evening as everyone celebrated the couple.

Surprises for Kava

Kava the dog played a significant role in Dylan and Allie’s wedding. She was there for Dylan’s proposal to Allie and being a part of the family, she was included in their wedding vows. Dylan and Allie promised to care for Kava by taking her on walks, giving her treats, and officially changed Kava’s last name. Throughout the celebration, Kava stuck close to the couple, showing her loyalty. And to top it off, Kava received her own miniature wedding cake, as a reward for posing beautifully in photos with Dylan and Allie.
