Kaci and Paul’s elopement was a celebration of a fairytale love story. It began the way many love stories do–with two people looking for love. In fact, when they first met Kaci told Paul she was “looking for love in all the wrong places”. Thankfully, their story proved otherwise.
Their first date was full of easy conversation and the knowledge that this was the beginning of something special. As their relationship continued, Paul realized that Kaci was everything he was looking for. It was clear they were building a future together.
Even though they had talked about getting engaged, Paul still managed to surprise her. One evening at home while Kaci was cooking dinner, Paul got down on one knee. “It wasn’t the proposal we planned for, it was perfect,” Kaci said.
Choosing Savannah for their elopement was an easy decision. It was the place where they first realized they were in love, and they wanted photos that reflected the fairytale.

It was also important for Paul and Kaci to include Kaci’s son on their wedding day. Not just in photos but in the vows that marked their new beginning. Listening to their dreams for their new family brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Here is what they shared:
“Not only are we celebrating a love story, but this day is also about celebrating a new family. I’d like to pause here to recognize the Little Man of Honor: the couple’s son.
Greyson, your mommy and Paul want you to know just how important you are: the joy of their days, the reason they laugh a little louder, and sometimes the reason they roll their eyes at your sarcasm with a smile.
Your story has been surrounded by love from the very beginning, and today that circle of love grows even wider. With Paul beside your mommy, you are gaining not only a stepfather, but a faithful guide and friend…someone who will scooter with you down the street, kick a soccer ball in the yard, and sit with you at the table to make crafts.
Together, your mommy and Paul promise to love, encourage, and support you always. Today is not only the beginning of a marriage, but the celebration of the family you all are becoming.”
Committing their love to one another, Kaci and Paul shared personal vows they had written. Here is some of what they said:
“I’ve heard it said that true love exists only in fairytales, and for most of my life, I believed that. For years, I’d never known what it felt like to be truly loved. During our time together, I’ve learned that love doesn’t have to be perfect to be magical. It just needs to embody patience, grace, and perseverance.

With you, love is just that… magical. Not because it’s flawless, but because it’s real. Our story won’t have perfection on every page, but it will hold courage, forgiveness, and growth in every line.
You are everything I ever dreamed of: smart, handsome, and loving. When I look into your eyes, I see a man I deeply love and respect. A man who has walked through fire and still chooses to be gentle and protective. One who leads our little family with strength and grace. And when you laugh, I see the wonder of a little boy who finds a way to bring joy and playfulness back into our lives. And in those moments, I believe in fairytales again, because this is ours.
As we turn this page in our story, I make these promises. To walk beside you through every season and to keep choosing you, over and over again.
I promise to lift you when you feel weak and calm you when you feel anxious. I promise to rejoice with you in every triumph and hold your hand when tears fall. I promise to wake each day choosing to love you, whatever the circumstances, and to fall asleep each night grateful to be in your arms.
And though our [story] may not be a perfect fairytale, it will always be my favorite, because we get to write it together.”

I was wandering, alone, and had resigned myself to a life that might never change. But from the moment we truly connected, I knew you would change all of that.
You took my depressed and careless thoughts and transformed them into inspiration and motivation. You reignited an excitement in me that I thought I had lost forever, the pure joy of not knowing what would happen next but being thrillingly excited by the possibilities.
You inspire that in me every time I hear your voice, see your face, or close my eyes. Even when we are apart, that inspiration is a constant reminder that I should be doing something great simply to justify being away from you.
Today, I promise to be your constant support and greatest champion. I promise to lead our family with patience; to be a gentle protector of your heart and spirit.
I promise to listen intently before I speak. And to love you fully, and freely. I promise to choose you every morning and every evening; especially on the days when it feels hardest. I promise to build a life with you that is not just a dwelling; but a sanctuary of peace and joy.
I began this journey wandering and lost, but standing here today, I am found. My hand is in yours, and my sight is set only on the brilliant future we will create.
