Bay Street: Urban Savannah Vibes with a Historic Feel

One of the most iconic photo locations in Savannah is right in the heart of the historic riverfront: Bay Street. Running parallel to the Savannah River, Bay Street offers a dynamic backdrop where cobblestones, historic architecture, and modern city life intersect.

Factor’s Walk

Factor’s Walk is one of the most photographed locations along Bay Street. This historic area is named for the “factors” (brokers) who worked here during the height of the cotton trade. The pedestrian bridges and historic iron steps, which originally connected warehouses on River Street to offices on the bluff above, have become some of the most photographed locations in the city.

Savannah Cotton Exchange

The Savannah Cotton Exchange is another architectural icon on Bay Street. With its Romanesque-style architecture, this building was once the center of Savannah’s thriving cotton industry. The warm earthy hues and intricate detailing on the building provide a beautiful textured backdrop of couples taking photos in Savannah.
