Your engagement photos are more than a collection of pretty pictures—they are the very first chapter of your wedding story. These photos are the ones you print, share and maybe even display at your wedding.
What you wear plays a huge part in how your photos feel. The right outfits don’t just look beautiful; they help you feel confident and completely yourselves in front of the camera.

When planning your outfits, choose clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable. That confidence will shine through in every photo.
Your outfit instantly changes the tone of your photos. Soft, neutral palettes are romantic and timeless while structured silhouettes or elevated fabrics instantly feel more editorial. Even the simplest outfit can look incredible when it supports your personality and lets your chemistry shine.

Your comfort matters just as much as style. You’ll be walking, cuddling, sitting, and moving naturally–and when your clothing lets you do that freely, it shows. Choose outfits that move easily with you and don’t restrict your connection.

I’m a fan of flowing dresses and dress shirts in muted, solid colors. That said, I absolutely love it when couples show up in outfits are uniquely them. I recommend staying away from tiny stripes or checks–while they look fine in person, they can appear distorted on screens or in digital prints.
Make sure your outfit feels secure so you don’t have to worry about adjusting straps, necklines or hems. If your shoes aren’t super comfy, bring an additional pair for walking between photo spots.
Many of my couple’s like to start their engagement session in a casual outfit, and then they change into dressier or more formal for variety.

Your engagement session is the perfect opportunity for a hair and makeup trial before your wedding. Professionally done hair and makeup not only photograph beautifully but also tends to hold up better in humidity and wind.
Treat yourself to a fresh manicure since I’ll capture close-ups of your ring and hands. And be sure to have your ring cleaned so it sparkles in every shot.

Simplicity and fit go a long way! Well-fitted shirts and pants that are pressed and styled neatly will look stunning in photos. For your second look, consider adding a jacket or tie for a more polished vibe.
Avoid patterns with small checks or stripes, as these can distract from your overall look on camera.

Think of your engagement session as a date—one where you get to celebrate your love and feel a little extra special. Dress up, have fun, and enjoy the experience together.
