Vicki + Chris Exchange Vows at Forsyth Park

Vicki and Chris are such a special couple to me. I first met them six years ago when Chris officiated the wedding of his lifelong best friend, Brian. I remember standing in the hotel lobby, waiting for Brian and Misty to walk down, when I first met Vicki and Chris. Curious, I asked how long they had been married—and they both laughed. They weren’t married yet; they were dating at the time.

A few years later, Vicki returned to Savannah with her daughter, and I had the joy of photographing her high school senior portraits. Then, just a few months ago, Vicki reached out again with exciting news—Chris had proposed on New Year’s Eve at the iconic fountain in Forsyth Park, right here in Savannah. And now, they were coming back to this beautiful city to get married.

On the afternoon of the wedding, storm clouds rolled in. We had originally planned to hold their elopement ceremony in Forsyth Park, but instead, I found myself huddled in a hotel lobby with Chris and Brian while Misty helped Vicki get ready. We watched the storm anxiously, wondering how long it would last. Chris, after all these years, was more than ready to get married—and he wasn’t going to let a little rain stop him!

As soon as the storm let up, we grabbed umbrellas and headed to the square just outside the hotel. Chris was determined to finally put a ring on Vicki’s finger. And in a joy-filled moment, they exchanged vows right there. Thankfully, the sun eventually broke through the clouds, and we were able to make it to Forsyth Park for some truly magical post-ceremony photos.

Congratulations Vicki and Chris–we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
