As a Savannah-based wedding photographer, I have the unique opportunity to photograph weddings in one of the most romantic cities in the country. I am also privileged to travel around the country, and the world, as a destination wedding photographer. I love photographing weddings in Savannah, embracing both the fun and challenges they bring.
Savannah has beauty that cannot be found anywhere else. The cobblestone streets and historic homes, and Southern elegance create a beautiful backdrop for photos. Towering oak trees draped with Spanish moss are seen throughout the city, at Wormsloe Historic Site and at Beaulieu–all stunning locations for a Savannah wedding. River Street brings more urban energy to the city with hints of history woven throughout.
The beauty and romance of Savannah flows effortlessly into weddings. Hydrangeas, stunning bridal gowns, and classic cars all give a nod to the past with the elegance of today. Every detail and every moment is a chance to create lasting images that the couple will celebrate for years to come.
Growing up in Georgia, I have always loved the South and love her traditions as well as the modern romance that defines weddings today. It is a dream to photograph weddings in one of my favorite places.
Photographing destination weddings has given me opportunities to travel around the country, and the world. There is excitement in exploring a new location as well as the challenge of finding photos spots and perfect lighting. Exploring a new location and venue is a challenge that allows me to grow as a photographer, and I love the opportunity to meet new vendors and work in new cities.
Often, after capturing a couple’s proposal, I am invited to photograph their wedding in their hometown. Destination weddings in the couple’s hometown allow me to tell their story in a deeper way–seeing the spaces they love and documenting the moments that matter the most to them.
When the entire wedding party travels for a destination wedding–whether it’s the United States or abroad–there is an energy that is completely different. Friends from different locations come together to celebrate the couple. There is laughter, storytelling and reminiscing and all of this is captured in candid moments throughout the wedding weekend.
Being both a Savannah wedding photographer and a destination wedding photographer gives me the best of both worlds. I get to enjoy the beauty of my hometown and also discover new places alongside amazing couples.
If you are planning a wedding in Savannah or dreaming of a destination wedding, I would love to help capture your day.
