On the day in February when Katherine and Brian got married, it rained – STORMED – all day. And as I do with all my couples, I offered them a portrait shoot on a later date at no additional charge.
We scheduled the shoot to start at the historic Green Meldrim House in downtown Savannah. It’s where I had also done Katherine’s bridal portraits, and we all loved the GORGEOUS setting.
While planning the shoot, I reached out to some of my favorite wedding pros to see if they’d like to participate in the shoot, and they happily agreed.
Katherine and Brian wore their wedding attire: she in the most gorgeous gown and he in a custom morning suit made in the UK. My good friend, Linda Fisher of Sugar Whisk, created a STUNNING cake. Those flowers are made from SUGAR. So delicate and beautiful they look real. Katherine and Brian were amazed, as were we all. (After delivering the cake, Linda stayed and helped me with the shoot!)
Jasmine Urbanek of Urbanek Beauty did Katherine FLAWLESS makeup and hair. The Hollywood waves were a classic recreation of her wedding day look. Absolutely stunning. And the incomparable Harvey Designs, who did Katherine and Brian’s wedding day florals, created a bouquet and boutonniere for the shoot. And by the most wonderful stroke of luck, there was a large, beautiful fresh flower arrangement in the house, left from an event the day before.
After shooting the mansion, we stepped outside to do portraits in some of my favorite spots in the historic district.
I absolutely LOVED getting to create these portraits. Katherine and Brian were such a JOY to work with. And honey, at the end of the shoot, Brian went to the car and brought back the sweetest gift for me: A FABULOUS sterling silver picture frame and and the sweetest smelling candle.
What a blessing to get to work with the kindest couples and the best fellow wedding pros!
